I think we all have a favorite piece of costume jewelry that we wear constantly, and as with most jewelry of this type, the metal sometimes tarnishes, the stones become loose or get lost, and the piece ends up at the bottom of your jewelry box. Well, I had such a pieceāa ring that I loved and would wear on my little finger. Over time, the gold finish wore away, but I still wore it because the stones still had a certain shimmer. I work with Andrea of āāKOKKU and saw some of his pieces at a staff exhibition and tried on many itemsāall lovely, intricate, and wearable. In conversation, I mentioned my costume ring and asked if it would be possible to replicate it in a more durable material, i.e., gold and diamonds. The answer was yes pretty much immediately, and after a few weeks, I am now in receipt of my favorite ring recreated in 18-karat gold and diamonds! The finished product has exceeded my expectations; the workmanship is excellent, and the attention to detail is amazing. Needless to say, I am back to wearing my ring every day, safe in the knowledge that I have a timeless piece of jewelry.
